Program Overview
The Brazos Valley Teach (BVTeach) Program works with school districts within the Brazos Valley to create prospects for high school students, who want to become teaching and training professionals, to get a jump-start on their college education.
Freshmen, sophomore, junior, and senior high school students may enroll in selected career and technical education (CTE) classes, specific to teaching and training, and dual credit courses offered at their high school. These classes are offered during the normal school day and are taught by approved high school or Blinn College instructors, so students who are ready for college-level learning are able to conveniently participate and receive college credit before they graduate. While in high school, BVTeach Students and Fellows receive early training to be a teacher while being socialized for the best profession on the planet…teaching!
Goals
The ultimate goals of the BVTeach Program include providing selected, eligible BVTeach Students with the opportunity to receive the guidance, resources, and support to be college- and career-ready in the teaching and training field. As a BVTeach Fellow, students enroll at Blinn College for not more than two years. If fellows would like to continue pursuing their education degree with eligibility, then they may enroll in a 4-year college or university.
